Many of the communities where MSF teams work are inaccessible during the rainy season or have no road access at all. These boats are the solution, bringing basic healthcare to remote communities where none exists, or transporting patients who need more specialized care to healthcare facilities in more populated regions. MSF teams load the boats up with everything they need to set up a basic family practice wherever they go, and use them to return regularly to check in on patients, offer treatment and provide essential medical care.
